Who We Are

A studio built around one knot at a time.

We're a small team working out of Punjab's wool country, making shawls, stoles and mufflers the slow way — because the fast way never kept anyone warm as well.

How it started

It began with a question nobody answered well: why does most winterwear feel disposable?

Warm & Cozy Knots started as a frustration with that answer. We'd unbox a "premium" muffler and find the fringe glued, the wool thin, the pattern printed rather than woven. So we went looking for the workshops that still did it the old way — by hand, by feel, by generations of knowing exactly how tight a knot needs to be.

What we found became the shape of this brand: a small collection, made properly, sold honestly.

From Yarn to You

How a single piece comes together

Nothing here is automated. Five hands touch every shawl before it reaches yours.

Sourcing the yarn

Merino and pashmina-blend fibres, chosen by hand for softness and how well they'll hold dye.

Weaving the base

Loomed in small runs, so a flaw gets caught long before it becomes a finished piece.

Knotting the fringe

Every edge is tied by hand, strand by strand — the slowest step, and the one we won't shortcut.

Pressing & inspection

Steamed flat, checked for evenness, and set aside if it doesn't meet the standard we'd want ourselves.

Wrapped & sent

Folded in tissue, tagged by hand, and shipped out to wherever the next cold morning is waiting.

What we work with

Fibres chosen for the fortieth wear, not the first.

We work mostly in merino wool and pashmina-cotton blends — warm without weight, soft enough to wear against bare skin, sturdy enough to travel in a suitcase without losing shape. Our paisley runs are woven, never printed, so the pattern doesn't fade before the fabric does.

Why the knots matter

Every fringe is tied, not trimmed.

Machine-cut fringe fades and frays within a season. Ours is knotted strand by strand, the same way it's been done for generations in the wool workshops we work with — slower, but it holds. It's a small detail most people won't notice until they compare it to anything else in their wardrobe.

Questions we hear most

Domestic orders within India typically arrive in 3–5 working days. International shipping generally takes 7–14 working days depending on your location and local customs processing.

Often, yes. Write to us with what you have in mind — we'll let you know honestly if it's something our current looms and dye batches can accommodate.

Unworn pieces in original packaging can be returned within 7 days of delivery. Since each fringe is hand-knotted, we inspect returns individually before issuing a refund or exchange.

Hand wash cold or dry clean, lay flat to dry, and store folded rather than hung so the weave doesn't stretch. A care card ships inside every order.
